I'm James Nixon — a Product Design Engineer graduated from UWE Bristol. I work at the intersection of industrial design, electronics, and human-centred thinking.
My final-year project, O.N.Y.X., is a smart wearable knee rehabilitation brace combining pneumatic compression, Peltier thermal therapy, and Arduino-driven adaptive feedback. It came directly from my own experience recovering from a serious knee injury — and from wanting to build something that actually closes the gap between clinical care and at-home recovery.
I'm comfortable working across the full product development stack — from early concept and CAD through to electronics, firmware, regulatory frameworks, and commercial considerations. I don't just prototype; I defend decisions.
Based in the UK and currently open to roles in product design engineering, medical devices, or hardware development.
